Detekt: Oriental Humanism meeting Western Tech.

Taiwan's 3C product design have built a reputation in the international circles, and works of design have won big awards at such prestigious international design awards such as iF, Reddot, and IDEA in recent years. Products with Taiwanese design have found its way to entering households all over the world. Furniture with one Taiwanese brand is gradually gaining ground in the marketplace: Detekt Design Technology has overcome various difficulties to build a unique style from offering high-tech product design service to developing lighting fixture products for its own line. What it has gone through is a story which Taiwan design and manufacturing firms can reference upon.
The founders of Detekt came from mechanical engineering and design backgrounds and rode the wave of hi-tech industries in Taiwan in mid 2000s, winning them the internationally acclaimed awards. Rapid prototype technology promised greater developments, but when they decided to focus on lighting furniture, it was the idea of looking back into their cultural roots to redefine product design that made them stood out. Oriental elements bloomed in the designs with deep connection with the designers, truly putting technology to its place.
